Jeans Bag

Materials:

  • Old jeans
  • Scissors
  • Buttons
  • Needles & thread
  • Sewing machine
  • Poplin/lining material
  • Iron/ironing board
Instructions:
  1. Cut the legs off the jeans so you are left with the ‘bottom’.
  2. Cut down the crutch seam, then sew up the bottom and side of the jeans to make a bag shape. Leave open at the top. Stitch zipper closed.
  3. Using material from one of the jeans legs, cut out a strap for your bag, the length and width you desire. Iron the long edges inwards and then iron in half. Sew down the whole length of the strap through all layers, along the ironed edges.
  4. Sew straps to bag on the inside of each side of the bag.
  5. Cut a piece of poplin to match the size of your bag. Stitch the bottom and side seams of your lining and iron the top edge over.
  6. Place the lining inside the denim bag and pin the folded edge of lining to the inside of the top edge of denim. Hand stitch all around the top edge.
  7. Embellish bag on outside with buttons.
